Presentation Overview
Stormwater runoff is a major source of pollution in Suffolk County. Pollutants like fertilizer, bacteria from animal waste, motor oil, and pesticides are easily picked up and transported to local bays, lakes, and the ocean via stormwater. These substances degrade water quality, harm marine life, and cause beach and shellfish bed closures across Long Island.
Learn what Suffolk County is doing to reduce stormwater pollution through the Stormwater Management Program Plan. Discover what YOU can do to reduce stormwater pollution in your community.
