Southampton: A guide for recycling

Recycling options: recycling is required by Southampton law. Curbside collection is not available, residents can either hire a private hauler or drop-off recyclables themselves at any of the above facilities.

Materials accepted: (some may require a fee, call for more information) corrugated cardboard, brown paper bags, newspapers, magazines, junk mail, office and school paper, paperback books, telephone directories, aluminum and tin cans, glass bottles and jars (clear, green or brown), aluminum foil, plastic containers (numbers 1 and 2), used clothing, household batteries, automotive and boat batteries, automotive oil, some yard waste (not grass clippings), scrap metal, scrap tires and construction material.

Household hazardous waste: once monthly from March-November, 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Location rotates, call for more information.
